You would think it's really simple. You are looking for a medical malpractice lawyer in New York. Maybe you had an accident and are looking for an attorney to represent you in your car accident case. Or maybe a relative of yours died and you're looking to hire a wrongful death trial lawyer here in New York.
There are lots of attorneys to choose from. You finally decide on one of them and you make an appointment to go into his office. You have done your research but now want to hear what he has to say.
You still are undecided whether to hire this attorney and you want to get to know him first before making any decision.
Did you know, that most experienced attorneys who handle medical malpractice, accident cases and wrongful death matters in New York are really deciding whether to hire you as the client before giving you the opportunity to hire them?
That sounds kind of strange, doesn't it?
You would think that if you were interested in a particular attorney it would be a simple matter of saying "Okay, sign me up I want you to represent me."
However, not every attorney takes that position.
In my office, it's almost as if you are applying for job. I must evaluate whether you are my ideal client and whether you are the type of person I want to deal with over the next two or three years during the course of your litigation. If the answer is yes, and after a thorough investigation it turns out you have a valid basis for a case, then I will welcome you into my office.
If, on the other hand, you are not my ideal client, then I will tell you immediately that we are not a good fit and give you your options of what to do next.

Here's a cardiac malpractice case where I was able to achieve a $6 million dollar settlement for my client.
Here's a foot surgery case where a Westchester, NY jury awarded my client $1.55 million dollars for her pain and suffering.
To learn more about how medical malpractice cases work in the state of New York, I encourage you to explore my educational website.
