What is Sepsis? New York Medical Malpractice Trial Attorney Gerry Oginsk...
Oginski-Law.com
You have just been told that your loved has sepsis.
Or, maybe the medical examiner told you that your family member died as a result of sepsis. You are now looking online to learn more information about what sepsis is.
Sepsis is a massive infection that spread throughout your body. It is an infection that can spread to your bloodstream and if not diagnosed and treated promptly can cause serious injuries and death.
We see this when patients have had abdominal surgery or colonoscopies and the physician may not have recognized a bowel perforation. As a result, stool material leaks into the abdomen which then gets infected. If not timely diagnosed, infection can spread and can be deadly.
Unfortunately, when the patient calls with follow up complaints of abdominal pain, unless there were obvious complications, those complaints may be treated as normal post-operative pain of the surgery or anesthesia.

Here's a cardiac malpractice case where I was able to achieve a $6 million dollar settlement for my client.
Here's a foot surgery case where a Westchester, NY jury awarded my client $1.55 million dollars for her pain and suffering.
